About Our Company
Our company was quite literally “born and raised on the farm”. It all started in 1999 when a large vegetable grower in Sampson County, North Carolina decided that they needed a better solution for dealing with the huge amount of data and time involved in picking their crops and paying their workers. Several software systems they tried simply didn’t do the job of quickly and accurately creating the 600 or more payroll checks they had to generate each week during harvest season.
That grower was DL&B Enterprises in Clinton, North Carolina.
The company is owned and operated by Doug and Linda Wilson, who farm
approximately 1500 acres of peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, and squash at
one of the largest vegetable operations on the East Coast.

It was in 1999 that they decided they needed to develop their own solution to their payroll problems. They contacted a programmer that they had dealt with in the past to develop a new program that would initially be used only on their farm, but one that might eventually be sold to other growers in the same situation.
By September of 1999, we had created the initial version of “PieceWorker” to accommodate their needs, streamlining the collection of payroll data and automatically feeding it to a payroll accounting system they had used for years.
In March of 2000, Mobile FarmWare, LLC was formed as the company that would make this program available to other growers in the country. It was sold to two other Clinton-area growers, who quickly realized the benefit of using the system to process the thousands of individual work entries handled each week.
We have continued to evolve since then to keep pace with the ever changing need for better agricultural labor tracking, record keeping, and general accounting. In 2004, we introduced our own full-feature accounting system -
Windows Accounting Made Simple (WAMS). In 2010 we added
PestTrack, a program to help track the application of pesticides, fertilizers, and other crop treatments.
Mobile FarmWare has steadily grown over the years, and we now support hundreds of agriculture companies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. We are able to support both large and small operations with flexible software packages. Our customers include cotton gins, cotton warehouses, berry, fruit, vegetable, tobacco, and cotton growers.
We are committed to providing our customers with prompt, friendly support from the people that wrote the software…not from third party companies in foreign countries.
